The shareholders of LIGHT CONVERSION, a leading manufacturer of femtosecond lasers and optical-parametric amplifiers, appoints a new board of directors.
“We’re excited to welcome three new board members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to our work. We are entering a new phase of company development and growth”, stated company co-founder Dr. Romualdas Danielius.
New members appointed to the LIGHT CONVERSION board are: Mr. Mario Cesari, Ms. Kristina Piskarskaite, and Dr. Lutz Aschke. Both Mr. Dominykas Vizbaras and Mr. Marc Watremez remain on the Board for a second consecutive term.
Mr. Mario Cesari has been appointed as the new LIGHT CONVERSION Chairman of the Board.

Chairman of the Board Mr. Mario Cesari
Since 2009, Mr. Cesari has been Corporate Development at TBG, a multi-billion diversified private industrial and data services holding. Previously Mr. Cesari held positions at McKinsey & Co. in Paris and Geneva, at private equity funds Berkshire Partners in Boston and Vestar Capital in Paris, and at Valeo in France and Asia. He is currently also acting as an independent director at De Nora (world leader in catalytic and water treatment technologies), De Agostini (multi-billion private Media and Asset Management Group) and Piovan (publicly listed leader in plastic and food dosing and mixing technologies). Mr. Cesari’s key competence fields include operations, strategic planning, acquisitions, and international expansion. Mr. Cesari holds an MSc. in industrial engineering from Milan Polytechnic and an MBA from Insead.
Vice-Chairman of the Board Ms. Kristina Piskarskaitė
Manufacturing Industry Lead at Invest Lithuania since 2019 responsible for key foreign manufacturing investors in Lithuania. Previously Ms. Piskarskaite held senior management consulting positions at Roland Berger, Porsche Consulting and Morsing with a focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, process optimization and change management at global automotive and pharmaceutical manufacturers, global transportation, and IT services companies. Ms. Piskarskaite’s educational background combines an MA in Business Administration from Vilnius University, Lithuania, and an MA in Corporate Communication from Aarhus University, Denmark.
Board Member Dr. Lutz Aschke
Managing Director of the Mahr Group since 2021. Previously Dr. Aschke held various top-management positions. Among others he served as CFO of the laser division of the TRUMPF group and as Managing Director of TRUMPF Photonic Components. He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques and member of the board of stakeholders of Photonics21, the platform of the European Photonics community. Dr. Aschke holds a PhD in physics and has further education in finance, innovation management and quality management.
Board Member Mr. Marc Watremez
Between 2015-2021, Marc Watremez served as Industrial Market Development Manager for France, Belgium, and Switzerland at Light Conversion. Since March 2019, he has been a member of the Board of LIGHT CONVERSION. Mr. Watremez previously held General Manager positions at Baasel Lasertech and Rofin Baasel France SA, and at Coherent General France. He also served as President of Rofin Baasel Swiss AG. Marc Watremez holds an Engineering degree from IUT VILLE D’AVRAY in France.
Board Member Mr. Dominykas Vizbaras
Co-founder and CEO of Brolis Group, a high-tech company group developing beyond-state-of-the-art technology for next-generation healthcare and industrial sensing platform. Brolis operates in Belgium and Lithuania. He is also Co-founder of Brolis Defence Group – a successful and profitable hardware company group with locations in Lithuania and the United Kingdom, manufacturing dismounted soldier electro-optic systems. Mr. Vizbaras field of expertise: Business development, Hardware product development, Capital raising, Initial sales, Start-ups.
