CRONUS-3P – a microscopy-dedicated laser source

CRONUS 3P A LASER SOURCE FOR ADVANCED NONLINEAR MICROSCOPY

LIGHT CONVERSION, the world’s leading manufacturer of femtosecond optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs), launches a microscopy-dedicated laser source – CRONUS-3P.

CRONUS-3P – is an OPA-based laser source developed specifically for advanced nonlinear microscopy. It provides μJ-level sub-85 fs pulses at repetition rates of up to 2 MHz and tunable from 1.25 μm to 1.8 μm, thus covering the biological transparency windows at 1.3 μm and 1.7 μm for three-photon microscopy. CRONUS-3P has integrated group delay dispersion (GDD) control, ensuring optimal pulse duration at the sample, and automated beam steering to guarantee laser pointing stability.

LIGHT CONVERSION product portfolio covers applications in functional neuroimaging, optogenetics, and deep imaging using medium-repetition-rate three-photon excitation and fast high-repetition-rate two-photon imaging, as well as widefield and holographic excitation using high-power laser sources.

CRONUS-3P features:

  • High pulse energy, high repetition rate, and high average power
  • 1250 – 1800 nm tuning range
  • < 85 fs pulse duration
  • Automated GDD control
  • Automated beam resizing and collimation
  • High output stability
  • Optional beam steering
